Each team of 4 runners in the Open Division (male, female, mixed) and Corporate will collectively run the 26.2 mile marathon distance. Distance is approximately broken out to the following segments: 7.5 miles, 6.5 miles, 7 miles, and 5.2 miles.
All race participants (Marathon, Half Marathon, and Marathon Team Relay) begin at 6:30AM on Sunday December 5, 2010. The races all begin at the corner of Evernia and Flagler Drive. Please plan on arriving at the Meyer Amphitheater no later than 5:30 am so you have time to drop off any personal items at the Baggage Drop-Off, stop by the port-o-potty one last time, hydrate and stretch prior to the start of the race.
We want to prepare you as best we can for the upcoming race. Here are a few pointers:
- Packet Pick up: Team Captain must pick up the team’s packet; a runner of a relay team will not be allowed to pick up separately. Please bring photo ID to the HarriettTheatre in CityPlace to pick up your packet on December 4, 2010 12:00PM-7:00PM and December 5, 2010 9:00AM-6:00PM. Volunteers will also be here to answer any questions you might have. Parking is available in CityPlace garages.
- Timing Chip: You will receive your chip in the packet. Please put your timing chip on your ankle (not wrist). You will pass the ankle bracelet to the next runner at the transition. DO NOT put on your wrist as you may not receive the correct running time, your chip must be near the timing mats to be sure it registers.
- Transition Locations: There will be signage as you approach each transition point. Make sure you cross the timing mats. Be sure to step off of the course to this area to exchange your chip to the next runners. Volunteers will have water/Gatorade for you here.
- Medals: Each runner will receive their medal at the transition area upon completion of their leg of the relay. Runner #4 will receive a medal at the finish line upon completion.
- Awards: 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners for each division will be posted following the race. The winners will pick up the award at the Information tent inside the Meyer Amphitheatre lawn.
- Captains Meeting: Once your team is registered your Captain will receive a welcome e-mail from the Relay Teams Committee Chair with further instructions on the mandatory Captains meeting which will go into detail on transition locations, maps, and any other questions that your team may have.
Congratulations for signing up and training for this race and Good Luck!
